Mike Maples Jr. invested in Justin.tv — a lifecasting platform. It morphed into Twitch, which Amazon acquired for $970 million. Maples had actually forgotten he was a shareholder and had to explain to his LPs why it wasn't in his financial statements. That experience triggered his research into pattern breaking, where he discovered that 80% of his exit profits came from pivots.
