The Story Behind This Song
Eric Ries co-founded IMVU in 2004, where the team deployed code 50 times a day when most companies shipped monthly. When he described this to other companies, people literally yelled at him in meetings. The lean startup methodology went from radical insurgency to default playbook — but Ries watched his ideas get misapplied everywhere, and TechCrunch called it 'overhyped' without ever explaining what it was.
