The Story Behind This Song
At Square, employees were surveyed about their number one frustration. The answer: decision-making. Not the decisions themselves — the lack of transparency around how decisions are made. Gokul Rajaram and colleagues created the SPADE framework as an alternative to consensus, built on accountability and clarity, where the person executing the decision is the one who decides.
