The Human Side · Track 4
Hymn-Like Folk · Tender, vulnerable, building to congregational warmth
Natalie Rothfels · On asking for help (even when you really don't want to)
“Asking for help is a sign of weakness, and weakness is a sign of death.”- Natalie Rothfels's coaching client
Natalie Rothfels, an executive coach and former PM at Khan Academy and Quizlet, wrote this piece after her own breakdown from overwork. She'd been 'willing and able to work 10 times harder to avoid the vulnerability of asking.' When her body gave out, she lost joy for a job that was a perfect fit — and spent three years rebuilding around one skill: learning to ask.
