The Story Behind This Song
Fei-Fei Li arrived in the US as a teenager and worked in her family's dry cleaner while studying physics. She entered AI research when the field was considered a dead end — as late as 2015-2016, tech companies avoided using the word 'AI' because they weren't sure if it was a dirty word. Her breakthrough was realizing that machines needed massive, cleanly-labeled datasets to learn visual intelligence, leading her to create ImageNet with its 15 million labeled images.
